Original universe: Named Malak. No last name, no family name. Kidnapped as a young boy from a merchant ship drifting too close to the matriarchal Spinward Islands, cursed so their inhabitants only ever have girl children. The kidnapping was extraordinarily traumatic for him, and he was quiet and sullen, unwilling to give in and become a part of the society he found himself within. Eventually, a male blacksmith and craftsman coaxed Malak into his forge, and the boy learned to become a smith, quiet and strong and tempered. He learned to trust slowly - even fell in love, but never admitted it. A father three times over, with three different women, he eventually becomes something like happy.

BDSM universe: In a world where everyone identifies as dominant or submissive, Spencer is more an unwilling. Assumed consent by a female dominant led to sex that he did not want, was not willing to give. When afterwards he withdrew, she protested that she only did what was reasonable.
